This journal issue presents scholarly discussions on contemporary developments in Islamic education, including the integration of technology in learning, student learning independence, women’s leadership in pesantren, learning design in Islamic boarding schools, religious habituation programs for character building, and Islamic leadership in promoting religious moderation. The issue also explores child-friendly Islamic education practices, social and moral challenges related to sexuality education, and the transformation of educational systems in pesantren. Through these diverse themes, the articles highlight the efforts of Islamic educational institutions to respond to technological, social, cultural, and institutional changes while strengthening character formation, educational quality, and the relevance of Islamic values in contemporary society.
