Post-Publication Discussion

Attanwir: Jurnal Keislaman dan Pendidikan welcomes constructive scholarly discussion of published articles. Readers, authors, and researchers may submit comments, questions, clarifications, or evidence-based criticism to support the accuracy and development of scholarly knowledge.

1. Scope of Discussion

Post-publication discussion may address:

  • Research methods, analysis, and interpretation.

  • Theoretical arguments and conceptual contributions.

  • Relevant literature or alternative explanations.

  • Requests for clarification.

  • Potential errors or omissions affecting the understanding of an article.

Differences in scholarly interpretation do not, by themselves, constitute errors or misconduct.

2. Submitting a Comment

Comments should be sent to attanwirbjn@gmail.com or through the journal’s Contact Information page.

Submissions should include:

  1. The title and DOI or URL of the article being discussed.

  2. A clear explanation of the issue and its scholarly significance.

  3. Supporting evidence or references, where relevant.

  4. The contributor’s name, affiliation where applicable, and contact details.

  5. Disclosure of any relevant conflicts of interest.

Comments intended for publication must be original. Contributors must disclose any previous dissemination or concurrent consideration elsewhere.

Confidential or anonymous reports of suspected misconduct are considered separately under the journal’s research misconduct procedures.

3. Editorial Assessment

An editor without a relevant conflict of interest assesses each submission for relevance, accuracy, clarity, scholarly value, and respectful language.

The editor may request revisions, seek independent expert assessment, or decline comments that do not provide a sufficient basis for scholarly discussion. Personal attacks, discriminatory language, unsupported accusations, and defamatory content are not acceptable.

Submission of a comment does not guarantee publication.

4. Author Responses

Where appropriate, the authors of the original article are invited to respond within a period specified by the editor.

Responses should address the substantive points raised, provide supporting evidence where needed, and disclose relevant conflicts of interest. The editor may request clarification or revision before publication.

An author’s decision not to respond does not automatically prevent publication of a comment that has met the journal’s editorial requirements. The absence of a response does not, by itself, establish that a criticism is correct.

5. Publication and Linking

Accepted comments and author responses may be published as correspondence or another clearly identified contribution.

Published discussions identify and link to the original article. Where technically possible, the original article also links to the published discussion. Contributors are identified, and relevant conflicts of interest are disclosed.

Post-publication discussion does not automatically change the original article. Substantive changes to the scholarly record are made through the journal’s correction, expression of concern, or retraction procedures.

6. Errors and Ethical Concerns

Comments that identify potential errors are assessed to determine whether clarification or a formal editorial notice is needed.

Allegations involving plagiarism, fabrication, falsification, unethical research, or other serious integrity concerns are handled under the journal’s Allegations of Research Misconduct policy.

The journal may investigate a concern independently of whether a related comment is accepted for publication.
