Leadership plays a pivotal role in strengthening the capacity of Islamic educational organizations to respond to organizational change while preserving their distinctive educational values. Growing institutional complexity, rapid educational transformation, and increasing public expectations require leadership that extends beyond managerial functions toward sustainable organizational development. Limited attention has been devoted to understanding how leadership contributes to organizational development within the context of Islamic educational organizations. Employing a qualitative approach, data were collected through semi-structured interviews with five leaders of Islamic educational organizations selected using purposive sampling. Interview data were analyzed through thematic analysis to identify recurring patterns related to leadership and organizational development. Analysis generated three major themes: understanding leadership, leadership strategies, and leadership outcomes. Leadership was understood as an amanah that integrates spiritual responsibility, ethical commitment, and professional competence. Organizational development was supported through shared vision, strategic planning, human capital development, effective communication, organizational commitment, and continuous evaluation. Leadership practices also fostered ethical decision-making, strengthened organizational culture, and enhanced institutional sustainability through collaborative governance and value-based management. Sustainable organizational development therefore depends on leaders' ability to integrate Islamic values, organizational learning, and managerial professionalism into everyday leadership practices. Findings contribute to the growing literature on educational leadership by offering an integrated perspective on leadership and organizational development within Islamic educational organizations while providing practical insights for leaders seeking to strengthen institutional resilience and long-term sustainability.
