ELEMEN VISUAL PADA BUKU AJAR BAHASA ARAB KEMENTERIAN AGAMA: PERSPEKTIF SISWA

According to Wahab (2015) Arabic learning and learning tools since 1968 until now are still developing along with developments technology and changing of time also condition. Arabic textbooks at the Middle Islamic High School also underwent revisions according to conditions, time, and some evaluations from various parties; however, errors in printing or typing and even the layout of the contents of the book can occur in every textbook in circulation. Through exploratory qualitative research with descriptive analysis tools. The purpose of this study is to uncover the visual elements of the book published by the Directorate of the Ministry of Religion in 2020 perspectives of Sudarma et.al (2015) and Erin M. McTigue et.al (2011); as well as students' understanding of these visual elements. The majority of the visual elements in this book are tables, 180 cartoon or photo illustrations, and the rest are design elements such as blunt squares, circles or other shapes. Some layout conditions are still random, making it difficult for readers to see the writing. As for the results of the interview, there were 10 visual elements, 10 people had good understanding, 6 people had a pretty good understanding, and 9 people had poor understanding.
