The journal Tawazun: Jurnal Ekonomi Syariah is dedicated to publishing high-quality, original research and scholarly articles that contribute to the theoretical development and practical application of Islamic Economics, Islamic Finance, and Islamic Business.

We welcome interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary studies that critically analyze the principles, mechanisms, and challenges within the field of Sharia Economics, aiming to promote a balanced (Tawazun) and just economic system.

Fokus (Focus)

The main focus of Tawazun is to explore, analyze, and disseminate knowledge on the broad spectrum of Islamic Economics and Finance from both contemporary and classical perspectives.

Scope

The scope of the journal covers, but is not limited to, the following core areas:

  • Islamic Banking and Finance (IBF): Sharia-compliant contracts and instruments (e.g., Murabahah, Musharakah, Mudarabah, Ijarah, Istisna', Salam), Risk management and regulatory framework in Islamic financial institutions. Performance, efficiency, and competitiveness of Islamic banks.

  • Islamic Capital Market and Investment: Sukuk (Islamic Bonds) issuance, structuring, and trading. Sharia-compliant stock market and equity investment. Islamic mutual funds and wealth management.

  • Islamic Social Finance: Management and efficacy of Zakat, Waqf, and Infaq/Sadaqah. Microfinance and poverty alleviation programs based on Islamic principles. Social impact and governance of Islamic philanthropic institutions.

  • Islamic Business Ethics and Management: Sharia compliance and governance (SCG) in corporations. Ethical marketing, production, and consumption from an Islamic viewpoint. Islamic human resource management and organizational behavior.

  • Monetary and Fiscal Policy in Islamic Economics: The role of money and interest (Riba) in a just economic system. Islamic monetary policy tools and macroeconomic stability. Fiscal policy and public finance in an Islamic state.

  • Philosophy and Methodology of Islamic Economics: Theoretical foundations of Islamic economics and its comparison with conventional economic models. Historical development of Islamic economic thought. Integration of Maqasid al-Shari'ah (Objectives of Sharia) into economic analysis.
