Abstract

The assets or potential of a region are a blessing that must be appreciated and developed. In this development effort, facilitators or groups are needed to bridge and enhance existing potentials. Religious leaders with a strong commitment to teaching Islamic knowledge, along with the large number of children in Sembungrejo Hamlet, Sumberjokidul Village, represent significant social and religious assets that, if properly developed, hold great potential. This presents a major opportunity to improve human resources and advance religious knowledge in the community of Sumberjokidul Village. The facilitation of this potential optimization is carried out using the ABCD (Asset-Based Community Development) approach, which emphasizes the inventory of community assets that support empowerment activities. Community service initiatives based on the ABCD approach aim to develop village potential or assets through communities that possess the capacity to grow. One form of enhancing religious life in Sumberjokidul Village is through the optimization of religious activities by revitalizing the role of religious educational institutions and parents in forming a Qur’anic generation. The steps include appreciative inquiry, community mapping, area exploration, Focus Group Discussions (FGD), priority scale formulation, followed by seminars, parental counseling, and ongoing monitoring.
